El Questro Homestead

I’d read about this place years ago, so expectations were high. They were fulfilled; a beautiful place, with good activities, great food and wine and exceptional staff.

Finally getting to El Questro was definitely ticking off a major 'must do one day' trip - did we have high expectations, yes we did...…..did El Questro & everything about it, absolutely exceed our expectations, yes it did! From the moment we pulled up out the front we were met by staff members with cold towels & sparkling wine to welcome us, the outstanding service never faulted at any point. We stayed in 'Gorgeview Rooms' rooms that were extremely comfortable - loved our private verandah & glass walled bathroom that provided the most beautiful view out over the Gorge. All of our meals & drinks on offer were excellent, compliments to the kitchen, especially on my birthday night which was made all the more memorable by having a private table for 4 down on the edge of the Gorge - a night to remember for sure. We had sunset drinks at Branco's Lookout & on the Chamberlain River - both fantastic...…...we did a 4WD nature tour, plus a hike into Emma's Gorge - all of our guides were great fun & very knowledgeable. We enjoyed time at the pool & soaking up the tranquillity of where we were. The only thing we missed out on was Zebedee Thermal Springs which was closed due to recent heavy rain. We really enjoyed interacting & dining with the other guests at dinner, but we also loved the interaction with the staff who made our stay extra special. Having been here once.....we think we might just have to do it again!

I spent four fabulous nights at the homestead. Everything was just perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay which was incomparably better than the nearby Emma Gorge Resort (where I spent two nights). The service was great, the hosts/ hostesses charming. Highly recommended.
