Pullman Resort Bunker Bay

Absolutely lovely, great hotel with really attentive staff. Well located by the beach and nice and quiet. Rooms were really lovely and well equipped. They were very clean. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice and nicely presented and cooked. Dinner was OK. A minor thing is about birds flying in whilst having breakfast. Its quite off putting and not pleasant if you are not keen on birds i.e. phobic, and is not hygienic in a food area.... Please put a mesh door outside of the automatic door to the outside area - a simple fix.

Nice entrance lobby that makes one think about a safari type experience. Room is sizable and clean. Also quiet (other than birds :). Access to the beautiful Bunker Beach was a significant plus. The property's reasonable proximity to vineyards, wine tastings and overlooks along the Ocean other major pluses (all need a car or tour). Breakfast buffet was mostly good. The 2nd day, the dining room was cut in half for someone's business meeting, which was a little disappointing. They were definitely taxed beyond their staffing level by the meeting (see separate restaurant ratings), which somewhat reduced our enthusiasm as they were not able to give attention as would be expected. Available staff were kind and helpful. A little unsure whether we'd return here or look around on a revisit.

We love Bunker Bay - the resort location and setting are amazing, however service was sadly not up to standard on this visit, nor were we advised of the maintenance work being carried out in the restaurant area - apparently some of the independent booking sites carried warnings, but we booked direct with Pullman/Accor. Our studio was well presented on arrival, but was not serviced the following day and, despite complaining and being advised that we would get an early housekeeping service on the third day, our room was still unserviced when we got back at 4.30pm! Having complained again, we finally got a visit from housekeeping - poor guy was exhausted and said they'd had 70 changeovers to facilitate with limited staffing! The restaurant service was also lack lustre. Thankfully it was pretty good at breakfast, but at dinner there was a long wait for drinks - more chasing required! However, all the restaurant staff were charming and doing their best. Breakfast was excellent on the Sunday and Monday, but more limited on the Tuesday - we didn't mind as it was included in our room rate, but would have been disappointed if this were not the case. We will be back for the location alone - hopefully Pullman will pull out the stops and restore BB Resort to its heyday.
