St. Martins Therme & Lodge

This thermal resort is located on a lake where you can actually swim in the summer. Simply wonderful! Breakfast and dinner are a "feast for the eyes, an incredible selection of everything you can imagine, lots of regional products, nice, very attentive staff everywhere." Safaris for bird watching. The house is also suitable for families. Evening wind-down at the bar with live music! The open-air theater/opera in Mörbisch and St. Margarethen should definitely be visited in the evening....

Never again. What an unparalleled rip-off. If you book a massage, you have to pay for thermal bath admission, which you are only told about in passing. This also applies if you even book a private suite in the massage area - i.e., you pay twice for the same stay. On top of that, the “restaurant” is just a glorified cafeteria. Pre-packaged food, unfriendly staff; even when we complained to management, they were completely overwhelmed, extremely unfriendly, and far from a “wellness resort.” The whole thing is designed for volume: unfriendly, impersonal, a rip-off, price optimization, overwhelmed management and staff. Anyone accustomed to luxury resorts with corresponding service will experience the exact opposite here. Clear recommendation: never again.

Since we have been to the Martins Therme many times, my husband surprised me for my birthday with a spontaneous night in the lodge. What can I say? Dreamlike as always, although there were many guests this time because it was the Pentecost weekend. But it didn't bother us. Since the lodge is very large, people spread out. As always, everything was perfect. From the reception to the room to the food. It was indeed an expensive birthday gift (1 night 449 euros half board), but it was worth it as always. We will come back.
