In transit a night spent in Classic Double Room here. Well located city hotel close to the center directly at a bus station. Rooms functionally furnished and with enough storage space. Super good extensive breakfast buffet, which leaves nothing to be desired!

This hotel is conveniently located opposite Villach Hbf, the main railway station. Checkin was prompt. The lift gave a view of the station as it ascended. The room was well set out with two single beds arranged together, a good desk with chair, a backless upholstered seat or it could double as an ottoman, good lighting including at each bedside table plus a wardrobe and decent sized television. The safety deposit box was ancient. I found it impossible to operate. These should be replaced. WiFi did not fail. The generously sized bathroom had excellent lighting. It was easy to store a toiletries bag. Towels were numerous, white and fluffy. There was a shower over bath. This is not my preference but I had requested a room change so not the hotel's fault. The showerhead delivered only a modest amount of water as it was not a rainshower. The bath was spotless but did not have an anti-slip mat. A glass screen ensured no water leaked on the floor from the shower. However the sink leaked a little through its cupboard near the floor. I reported this to reception. Curtains were quite good but allowed a little light to seep in. There was a kettle and tea varieties. Breakfast was excellent. Great yoghurt, fresh cut fruit, a very good vread selection, quality mango and other juices, cold cuts such as ham and cheese plus about six varieties of cake slices. Unusually at this price point for Europe, there were three hot dishes including vegetables. The waiter was very professional. The very nice lady in her late 50s at reception in the morning efficiently found me the Mass times at St Nikolai Catholic Church 300 metres down a side street. The first floor had a classy guest lounge in addition to the breakfast room. Coming from what can be a city with hotter weather than much of Europe, I often find European hotel rooms to be somewhat overheated and stuffy. However despite my room having a modern airconditioner, it is only available for guest use from June to September. This restriction should end, as it ought be guests' decision as to what cooling or heating system they desire. Other than that, a quality hotel.

The hotel is just opposite the train station, in a few minutes you are also in the center of Villach. We had the economy room, simple decor, pretty small, even the bathroom with nice shower cubicle. Has been enough, though, as we were here only for one night in transit (by train), very quiet. Refrigerator, kettle, coffee pads - everything you need, even in the bathroom. In 1. OG there was an extensive, delicious breakfast buffet. Also in 1. On the ground floor there is still a cozy "living room" where you can stay well, a drinks vending machine is also available. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only mango was that it was very cold both in the room and in the bathroom, the radiators could not be turned on either. But well, you can take it for one night.
