Lovely little spot with a beautiful view of the mountains. The only issue is that there is really nothing in the immediate area, you have to walk 15 min to get "down" to where the shops/ restaurants are, and the trek up (particularly while pushing up a stroller) is brutal. Beds are comfortable, even the sofa bed isn't too bad. The kitchen is pretty well stocked with dishware and cookware. Fridge is pretty big. Bathroom is spacious. My shower loving husband had no issues with the shower. Kids loved having a tub. The towel warmer didn't seem very warm though. Insuite laundry available - washer only though, no dryer. Laundry pods and dishwasher tablets are provided.
Breakfast is provided. Nothing fancy - various breads, cheeses, lox, boiled eggs, some fresh vegetables (cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, alfalfa sprouts), fruit, small selection of baked goods (apple strudel, couple of cakes), cereal, yogurt, fresh smoothie (only one type), apple and orange juice and yogurt drink.
The owners live on site, on the other half of the building. They have a beautiful lab that the kids loved. They are a lovely older couple. The female owner used to work in the travel/ tourism industry.
Free parking available on the property.
Daily housekeeping, which is nice. The place is very clean.
Free toiletries include bulk shampoo/ body wash. There is also a dental kit, shower cap, sewing kit, and vanity set. Disposable slippers are available, along with bath robes.

We were in a family of 4, including kids of 13 and 11.
The hotel is located in a 15 minutes walking distance from the main attractions in the city.
We did not use the car when walking around and we left the car in the garage during the 2 nights we stayed there.
Breakfast was amazing, with several options and really good food.
The room was large and clean. Bed was comfortable and location is super quiet.
No complains on the service.
No mistake there!

Thoroughly recommend the Hotel Haus Arenberg for a family trip to Salzburg.
My wife, daughter (21) and I stayed in Room 4 for 5 nights primarily to run the Salzburg Half Marathon, visit the city and Austria's Lake District. Our two bed apartment (double bed and sofa bed) was extremely clean, comfortable and spacious with a fabulous balcony view of the garden and Austrian/Bavarian Alps beyond.
After a busy day sightseeing or running it was relaxing to come 'home' to our apartment, than staying in the busy city centre. The breakfast buffet offered a very good range of nutritious options which set us up perfectly for each day's events. The homemade cakes were also delicious. The hotel was in a smart residential district only 15 mins walk from the city centre (or 5 mins if taking one of the frequent buses at the bottom of the hill (not steep) on which the access road to the hotel is situated).
We often walked along the riverside paths to and from the old/new towns with excellent views of the city. The old town could also be easily accessed across the Mozart foot bridge.
Our host also kindly set us up with a Guest Pass to use public transport for free which was very useful when we needed to catch early morning bus trips or be less rushed for dinner reservations (this also came in handy for catching the bus (No. 10) to the airport on our final day which only took 20 minutes).
Was very impressed with Salzburg as a place to visit. Beautiful, with a fascinating history, excellent restaurants, surrounded by stunning mountains, palaces and lakes.
