Radisson Blu Hotel & Conference Centre Salzburg

Unfortunately Radisson Blu fell far short of expectations. On arrival we were advised there was a €20 per day parking fee, they could sell me a ticket to cover this. We were also advised we had access to the Club Lounge with terrace but breakfast was not included. I challenged this and had to prove I booked with breakfast. When we arrived in our room, a business suite, initially I was impressed until I lifted the toilet seat lid to find some toilet paper which appeared to have been used to wipe around still stuck to the seat. I went back to reception to complain about this. They said they would send someone to clean this. We went to check the Club Lounge but unfortunately this was very poorly stocked. Despite the promise of beers, wines, Prosecco, soft drinks and snacks. All of the beers, wines and Prosecco was gone. There were two members of staff who came up whilst we were checking this facility. They apologised but did not offer to put this right. After some time we went back to our room but the toilet situation had still not been corrected. I went back to reception to complain on our way to dinner. I also asked for some extra pillows. They said they would arrange for this to be cleaned. When we returned after dinner the toilet paper was cleaned up but I doubt they had cleaned this room properly. I had to go back again and ask for the pillows. The following morning we were awoken early by the building site next door. All reception did was apologise and said they should not start work until 7:30. On two of our four mornings work started before 6. I went to reception and was offered a parking ticket for my four night stay for free given the issues with check in. I later discovered there was no barrier to exit the car park so whilst this seemed a nice offer, parking was effectively free anyway. The toilet also had no ventilation, the bin in the toilet was not emptied during our four night stay and there was nowhere to hang the hand towel in the toilet. Not to mention the leaking shower. Visiting the the Club Lounge after days out, unfortunately this was only stocked with beers on two of the four evenings. Altogether a rather disappointing stay.

A nice hotel with attentive staff; I would especially like to highlight Ms. Serpil, who was a great help to us during our stay. Carpet in the breakfast area rather unhygienic. Incredibly poor handling of a water problem that lasted over an hour and I only had ice-cold water for showering. No alternative and no apology - just an "it will take another 1.5h". Unfortunately, that was not customer-friendly at all and unacceptable.

The Radisson Blu, with its good reputation, has a great location near the Salzburg main train station as a starting point. The staff member at the front desk who took our complaint about the first room, as well as the receptionist at breakfast, were both exceptionally attentive, friendly, and helpful. We were offered an upgrade. We think that the general cleanliness in the hotel hallways, as well as in both bathrooms, did not have a good standard. In the first room, you could not watch television because the picture was broken; there were foreign hairs on the floor, and dust that you could write in legibly. The bathroom in the upgrade was also not flawless. The breakfast was okay. We know baked goods and coffee in Austria to be significantly different. I believe there is still potential for improvement here.
