Ferienhotel Kaltschmid

We spent our vacation as a family with our two children (2 and 5 years old) at the "Das Kaltschmid" family hotel. We traveled by public transport, the hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the Seefeld train station. A train runs approximately every 30 minutes to and from Innsbruck. Upon our arrival, we were very warmly welcomed at the reception. We booked the 2-room apartment Fürstenhof. The apartment was very nice and clean, a crib for our 2-year-old child was already provided. The hotel has an indoor pool with a small slide for children under 10 years old. The water depth in the small wading pool is 31 cm, in the swimming area it is 1.4 m or 1.43 m. It is therefore ideal for children making their first swimming attempts, as a parent can be right there. Regarding the food: There is a rich breakfast buffet in the dining room. Dinner is also served in the dining room and consists of a 4-course menu that can be chosen in the morning. I would describe the dinner for adults as first-class; it was sometimes truly gourmet cuisine. The waiters who were responsible for our table were extremely friendly and attentive. I believe I have never been treated so well while dining out. Now for the unfortunately negative points: I booked the vacation at "Das Kaltschmid" because it is listed as a family hotel. With small children, a family-friendly hotel is naturally important to me, as well as the fact that our children do not have to be quiet all the time to avoid disturbing other guests. The audience at the hotel was very mixed, partly parents with (younger) children and partly older guests. Unfortunately, I often felt that our children were disturbing. Dinner starts at 6:30 PM, which is not very family-friendly; at this time, small children are often already tired and therefore a bit louder. We always hurried to finish our meal quickly so that our children could go to bed. We booked all-inclusive so that a vacation with small children is more relaxing. Lunch took place in a separate restaurant in the hotel, which also welcomed external guests. One day, our 2-year-old child was a bit whinier and louder. We even considered leaving the restaurant because of this. However, our child calmed down again. When a street sweeper passed by, our child was very happy and was briefly a bit louder. This apparently disturbed a lady at a table outside (we were sitting inside by the open window) so much that she decided to inform us about it (multiple times). Again: We specifically booked all-inclusive at a FAMILY HOTEL so that normal behavior from children is not perceived as disturbing. It is not family-friendly at all if lunch takes place in a restaurant belonging to the hotel where guests feel disturbed by normal children's noises. Our children never ran through the restaurant or threw food around. Our two-year-old child behaved age-appropriately, and this was disturbing in a family hotel during vacation. Unfortunately, the waiter did not feel it was his duty to inform the lady that this is a family hotel. Unfortunately, it was quite loud in the hotel itself in the evenings until late at night, as there is also a pub and a disco in the building. This is also not really suitable for a family hotel, even though I personally can sleep well with noise. I would recommend the hotel with some reservations. Very suitable for 5-year-old children, also for babies (there were some guests). Unfortunately, I find it not very suitable for 2-year-old children, as there are many guests without children who may be disturbed by children's noise (but they choose to spend their vacation in a family hotel...).

Super nice family hotel and excellent service! I don't really understand why people write badly about this, the hotel does everything to make a family feel good. My 6-year-old son has constantly enjoyed himself, in the furnished children's playrooms but also in the nice swimming pool on the 4th floor. For the parents there is a very good sauna. The breakfast was excellent. We only had breakfast because I'm not a fan of full board myself, so I can't judge this and has nothing to do with the hotel. The location is top and right in the center, the ski bus is 3 minutes walk. We had a very nice holiday and we will definitely go back to this hotel. The only flaw for us was the small shower in the bath, showering was not nice. But this has not made the stay any less about.

Kaltschmid is a lively, large hotel that you have to like as it is. There are some old but also already renovated rooms in different categories. As everywhere else, the staff is mostly seasonal staff who try hard and make the place special. The food including the Service promised us every day! The only two waitresses who were not sympathetic to us even in the previous stays work in the restaurant at the Kurpark. These are two people who are very arrogant. All other hardworking helpers get 10 out of 10 points because they are with a lot of heart and commitment to their cause. Our daughter was looking forward daily to the children's club and the two aunts Veronika & Violetta, who take very warm care of the children. Children can enjoy free lunch and drinks daily at the Happyclub. This time, however, there were other opening hours, namely only from 12:00-20:00. The cinema evening started at 19:00, which does not match the dinner times from 18:30. The food was as last time very abundant and delicious. The cakes in the pastry shop are awesome! We will certainly keep an eye on the HP accommodation offers and, if the price is right, will come back a fifth time. Many greetings and a big compliment to the hotel team that makes this great house what it is!
