Gasthof Hotel Neuwirt

On a stopover to Italy conveniently but absolutely quietly located near the Fernpass road. We had a large apartment on the ground floor (probably an upgrade), modern furnished well equipped with kitchenette. Very good breakfast buffet, which was always refilled quickly. Little drawback: The room was located at the back directly at the parking lot. Guest cars arriving at night then lit up the room several times brightly (but probably there would have been curtains or blinds). The dinner in the in-house restaurant was rather average and thus did not quite fit the good impression otherwise.

Again and again we liked to stop by the Neuwirt every year. Especially the Tyrolean cuisine attracted us a lot. The Grostl was a dream. This year unfortunately new card and Gröstl gone. Alternatively, Swiss schnitzel, baked with cheese and spaetzle. Very delicious and the accompanying salad fresh and crisp..The service is very accommodating and friendly. We don’t know the background and the “why”, but different variations of chips can’t be the solution. But a visit to the Neuwirt is still worthwhile.

The restaurant is renovated inside but does not make an impression as a cosy country inn. It looks more like a cafe and we had dinner in the “breakfast room”. The waiter is a flop, but you can't find reasonable staff anymore !! The food was delicious we had the schnitzel with fries and a salad plate with turkey strips. Price performance is right. We're not coming back. For us, the 1. Impression always decisive.
