Harmony Hotel Harfenwirt

Had the best week at the Harfenwirt. The views and room were really good..the food was great, and the owner, Herbert was lovely. He played his harp for us all at his sisters place. This was in a 500 year old house/bar. There are mainly drag ski lifts here at the local ski area...some of the red runs are pretty tricky but the blues were very good. The views from the top are absolutely stunning and we will definitely return. The swimming pool wasn't busy at all and the temperature is kept lovely and warm. The WiFi is free now and worked very well. Rooms are cleaned often and staff are all very friendly and approachable. All in all, a very very good week, making beautiful memories 😃

This is a wonderfully authentic and traditional hotel with real character. What truly makes this place special is the beating heart of the people who work there, especially the owner, Herbert, who, at 80 years old, is still actively involved in the day-to-day running of the hotel and clearly enjoys spending time with his guests. That personal touch creates such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bedroom was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The location of our room was fantastic, with a balcony overlooking the slopes, which made the whole experience feel extra special. The hotel itself is in the perfect position, literally across the road from the lifts, making it incredibly convenient for skiing. Breakfast offered a great selection and the evening meal provided a choice each night, which gave good variety throughout the stay. What really stands out about this hotel, though, is the friendliness of the staff. Their warmth and hospitality seem to flow naturally into the atmosphere of the whole hotel and even the interactions between guests. It feels relaxed, genuine and welcoming. This is not a swanky, ultra-modern hotel, and in many ways, it is far better than that. It has heart, personality and charm. We would absolutely consider rebooking for next year.

Arrived at the hotel on a Saturday early evening. Dinner finishes at 8pm so dumped our bags and went for dinner. The menus are a set menu 3 course every evening. As my husband is a fussy eater, he was absolutely dreading it. I had a word with the waiter and he was absolutely brilliant in sorting something different out for him each night. The chef was very accommodating to his requirements (nothing a couple of drinks behind the bar for him didn’t sort out) as there were loads of people staying at the hotel. The rooms were very basic and dated but we didn’t spend much time in them at all. It did the job. The hotel is exactly like I thought it was going to be, very Austrian. The owner goes around speaking to the guests. Not many hotels have that sort of treatment from the owner. Him and his partner eat at the hotel, she is absolutely lovely and really friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful. I never used the pool/sauna but my friend said it was very nice. You can ski in & out across the road from the hotel. Ski hire shop is an 8 min walk from the hotel but only open until 6pm which seems a little bizarre for change over days as we had to get up early the next morning to collect the skis ready for our lessons.
