Hello, we are two young cyclists on our way to Rome. After a long tour through the Alps, we called this hotel to ask if we could stay overnight and how much it would cost. The woman on the phone was initially very friendly and said a single room costs 86 € and a double room 130 €. I said that for both of us, above all, we want the cheapest option.
On arrival we saw that the small single rooms each had two beds. That's why we said that we didn't need two single rooms, but that a small room would be quite enough for both of us as we wanted to pay attention to our budget. We even cancelled another accommodation because we thought the extra €16 for breakfast would be worth it. In our minds we still had the two options: 130 € or 86 €, and we had chosen the cheaper one.
We had called especially and even considered not booking through Booking so the hotel would not have to pay commission. The night was then quite noisy because of the road, the wifi was poor and it took us a long time to get warm water. But we thought: That's okay for that price.
When we checked out we suddenly got a bill for 130 €. We were told that there are two of us and therefore also have to pay 130 € for a small room. It turned out that the 86 € per person applies to a single room and the double room costs 130 €. I don't understand why it was said that €86 was the cheapest option, because that would have been €172 together.
When I brought this up, I was blamed, allegedly because my German was not good enough. However, the employee did not speak English. There was no accommodation and no apology. To me, this seems like a misleading sales tactic, comparing only the price of a single room with that of a double room.
When I tried to explain it, I was simply turned away. I can not recommend this hotel. Hospitality seems only superficial, it seems to be all about money.

When I pointed this out, I was blamed for not understanding properly due to my imperfect German, even though the staff did not speak English. There was no willingness to help and no apology. It felt like a misleading sales tactic, comparing the price of a single room with a double room.
When I tried to explain this, I was dismissed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The hospitality feels superficial, it seems they are mainly focused on making money.

Despite the difficulty of the language, very well received and the room was of good quality, I recommend a walk in the village, there are extraordinary gardens and the restaurant a little further down the street

We chose the Lowen as a convenient place to break our journey to Italy. There is ample parking behind the hotel, the room was large, with comfortable beds and a good bathroom. There is a filly equipped guest kitchen where you can make a cup of tea or coffee right through to a proper meal, there's an honesty bar for cold drinks too. Breakfast was tasty with a simple buffet and lovely fresh breads. We'd happily stay here again if passing through Silz.
