Menthof Hotel

We have just returned from a week in Seefeld and stayed at the hotel Menthof. It is a lovely family run business who take a lot of pride in the service they provide. The hotel was warm and very very clean with very comfy beds. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. We travelled in a large group with young children and teens and we all found the hotel very welcoming. The owners are involved in every aspect from maid service to kitchen duties and still find the time to ensure you have taxi booked and are organised for your next day. We would definitely return again if we returned to Seefeld. Thanks again Julia to you and your mum for a lovely stay x

My son and I have just returned from a few days skiing. We stayed at Hotel Menthof and had a fantastic stay. We arrived way before our check in time which wasn't an issue, our room was swopped to one that was ready. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Decorated in the usual Austrian style with super comfy beds. The balcony had a fantastic view. Staff were friendly and happy to help and breakfast buffet was great. If we return to Seefeld we'll certainly stay here again.

The so-called 3-star hotel meets the 3-star category list in several points. No shower shampoo, an unkempt mini pillow, no operating instructions for the TV and telephone, no writing area, no drinks on offer in the room are just a few of the criteria. A room without a heating thermostat is anything but modern, it is pollution. The sauna in a basement room is tiny; more than 2 people cannot fit in the cabin, the door of which does not close properly. The toilet is only available across the hall. There is no ski cellar, just a small shed in front of the house that is so small that you have to squeeze your skis in at an angle. Waxing your skis is impossible there. When you ask about this, you are harshly told to go to the local ski service for waxing. This does not need to be commented on further. The carpet in the room has an ugly stain, and you will look in vain for a smoke detector or escape route description. Add to that a snobby, unfriendly hotel manager - that makes it easy to say goodbye. A downgrade to 2 stars has been requested. The food is decent and gives no cause for criticism; however, there are no cloth napkins for guests who stay for several days. There is no menu choice other than meat or non-meat and there is no menu. The drink prices are normal for the area and not excessive. It is very disappointing that the website (incidentally only in German) shows a much cheaper price than the written offer. When asked about this, the staff replied that it was an error. Nothing was corrected or even refunded. The difference was 15 euros per day. The location on the outskirts of town and the 5-10 minute walk to the train station are not bad, but the busy road to Zirl/Innsbruck can be heard all night long.
