Romantikhotel Zell am See

This was a great holiday! The hotel was clean, the staff were helpful and pleasant and the staff her served the meals in the evening had a great sense of humour. The room we had was perfect. Nice big king size bed, comfy mattress that came with a big lounge area. The food was of a high standard. We normally end up on holidays with a buffet menu, but here every evening was a five course meal. Starting with a salad, followed by soup. The main meal had three choices, one meat, one fish and one vegetarian. As my wife is vegetarian, she had a great selection of food during our week stay. After this, we had a sweet, followed by cheese and fruit. If it wasn’t for all our walking, we would definitely put weight on. The pool indoor pool was good and you could swim to the outside pool. The steam and sauna rooms were also very clean. Zell Am See is a great place to visit. The town is great with plenty of things to do in the summertime. Lots of free events to attend. One thing we really took advantage of was the free travel. We were given a free travel card which allowed us to travel free on buses, trains, cable cars and the water ferry. Saved us a fortune. This is one of the best holidays we’ve had in a long time. The hotel was fantastic, the town was so clean and welcoming and the views were stunning. Definitely coming back!!

We booked a week's holiday with Inghams in the Romantik Hotel. The hotel was very atmospheric, reflecting its age and authenticity. The staff were very polite and helpful, and the food was exceptional. The room was quite dingy and although it was clean, needed to be decorated. The main criticism we have with the hotel was the way it dealt with the heatwave. We appreciate that weather can be unexpected, but feel it was wrong for the hotel to charge 10 euros per guest to eat dinner outside, and did not even attempt to open the glass doors of the dining area to cool the area down. The hotel has no air-conditioning, so our bedroom was also extremely hot. We will not revisit this hotel in summer and would suggest it is only suitable as a winter facility.

We had booked a week the Pinzgauer suite with half board. It was a beautiful room with sauna on the balcony. Nice to have a swimming pool, especially on hot days. The food leaves nothing to be desired and exceeded our expectations. From extensive breakfast buffet to 5 course dinner in the evening. Every night the cook managed to get a new menu on the table. Not once was it disappointing, an incredible achievement. The service, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff is fantastic. A big 10 for everyone and thanks for the hospitality.
