We were only here for one night, which worked out well, but 2 nights would give more time to explore the large number of attractions that are a bit further away. We used our time well, visiting beautiful Linderhof Palace on our way to Reutte, touring the Ehrenberg castle ruins and suspension bridge in the evening (after checking in and eating a delicious traditional meal in the restaurant) and then headed to the King's Castles in the morning after a comfortable sleep. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The room cooled off nicely at night with the window open. Breakfast was great. The funicular to the top of the mountain (to see the castle ruins and suspension bridge) was steps away from the hotel. To save money, one could hike up the mountain. We really enjoyed both sites - the bridge was very cool and the ruins were almost deserted. Both sites (they're right next to each other) had beautiful views. The only negative at the hotel was that the hallway carpet was exceptionally dirty and gave the place a grubby feel. However, as mentioned above, the room itself was clean so overall we very much enjoyed our stay. Hopefully hallway renovations will occur in the near future. As well, we really enjoyed staying in a quiet location away from the hordes of tourists also visiting the King's Castles. And it was only a 30 minute drive to the castles, so we were easily able to have breakfast at the hotel and get to the castle parking lot before our 9:00 am timed ticket. We would definitely recommend staying here if visiting the King's Castles.

Wow! What a great family experience. So much to do right there at Burgenwelten Ehrenberg. Kids just loved it. The incline, the museums (Ritter Ruettiger included!), the bridge, the castle. If you do run out of stuff to do on site, the local area is stunning, and you're 20 minutes from Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau in Bavaria. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and the bathroom was huge and had heated floors! Restaurant was great and had a kids menu and our kids actually ate!
