Alpenhof

Very nice hotel with fabulous views. Friendly and helpful staff. Our room had a good size and we have been supplied with a travel bed for our little one free of charge. Breakfast buffet is sufficient with a choice of cold cuts, cheese, cereals, bread and so on. Within minutes one can reach the surrounding mountains by car of bus.

Very friendly and well run, this hotel delivers on its claims that it's a 3* hotel with 4* facilities. Rooms are comfortable, nicely proportioned and well maintained, facilities are good for a property in this class. Ski lifts are within a short walking distance; the centre of town can be reached on foot as well. Service is as personal as is humanly possible in this price bracket - there were many long-term repeat guests during our stay (always a good - very good - sign). Little details are taken care of: we were asked a language preference and then provided with daily menus (and info sheets) in English. The breakfast buffet is good - even some healthy add-ons to the cereals, etc. The manageress took time to come and wish our daughter a happy birthday, all done in a very personal manner. Where could it improve: like so many independent hotels, this one does not send out an (automated) confirmation e-mail, shortly before arrival date. So many hotel chains do this - it is usually helpful for the independent traveller (i.e. one that booked direct), but this was quickly resolved with a phone call. Other possible improvement: guest access to a coffee machine during breakfast would be welcomed by this traveller.

This was a great little find, very reasonably priced, very clean hotel with friendly staff. The rooms were a good size with very comfortable beds. This is a lovely quiet hotel with amazing views from the balcony. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, we were there in June with temperatures in the low 20's and it was fairly cool in the room, not sure what the rooms would be like if the temperatures are higher. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice, staff at breakfast were very attentive, best service we have had in a long time, we have no hesitation at all of recommending this hotel.
