Hotel Taxacher

You can see the beautiful snow from your room (With balcony). Showerhead maybe a bit low for tal people but furthermore it is per-fect. Room also big enough and bed very comfortable. Free wifi (works good). Oh and please let me mention this: we know we had ' neighbors' but we did not hear them at all! Breakfast and dinner was so good! Dinner also very divers. Staff is also friendly. Loved the location, busstation 1 minute walk. Also a perfect location to start for a nice walk in/around the snow. And if we wanted to go to the shops/restaurants/pubs we took a taxi for just 8euro's or had a nice walk of 20 minutes. The hotel has a sauna which was great - not too big which makes it to me perfect. We had a wonderful time here! Thank you for having us.

I stayed in this hotel for a week in March 2017. The rooms are not big for two people, but there is enough leg room. Our room had a balcony, but here was the problem. If we closed all windows the room would get hot and stuffy. The windows and the balcony overlooked the street, so when they were open, even a little, there was a lot of noise from passing cars, from people hanging around the entrance of the hotel (presumably to smoke), and from people in other balconies, also smoking. The other problem was breakfast. There was not much variety, and it was clear that the staff were not able, or not trained, to deal with the amount of people that were there. The tables were not always cleaned, the tablecloths were reused and spotty, the food sometimes ran out and not always replaced, etc. There is a sauna (3 types) downstairs. The one time we tried to use it after skiing, it was very crowded, and there was hardly any room, but the other times, when we avoided that specific hour, it was empty and enjoyable. , The front desk was very courteous, but not always there.

Stayed at this hotel having booked a last minute deal and was somewhat apprehensive having read previous Tripadvisor comments. We arrived late in the evening on the 1st day after official dinner hours and were greeted in the dining room by a very pleasant waitress who was to be our hostess for the week. The hotel is superbly located close to the main ski areas of Maierel and Pengelstein with the Ki West Gondola offering access to the vast Skiwelt. It is about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Kirschberg which is not a problem. The bus stop is just outside the door and is exceptionally convenient with transfers of just a few minutes. THe hotel itself is rated 3 Star and is more of a traditional Austrian hotel which is very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The bathrooms are quite small but perfectly functional. It lacks a swimming pool but the Spa area is a wonderful bonus and is decorated in the modern style. I would totally recommend this hotel and would not be influenced by other negative Tripadvisor reviews,
