Alpenhotel Enzian

This hotel is a real rare gem... The location directly on the slopes is enviable, the view super.. The staff so kind and considerate. The food is just fantastic...

We wanted ski in and ski out and up the mountain so Hochsolden it was. We looked at the 5 hotels and choose Enzian due to the sun terrace and spa with outside infinity pool. And we booked independently flying with BA and private transfers with Connectto. Hochsolden is definately ski in and ski out. The hotels are on a short red run from the giggyjock and you have to ski down the short red to the Hochsolden gondola in the morning. If you are a beginner you can walk through the tunnel and get onto the cable car at the mid station but is a short steep walk to get to the cable car station. It makes for great spectator sport later in the day as it’s on one of the main runs back to the village and in March it’s getting slushy. The hotel has an awesome slope side view bar with sofas and high tables and the staff are great serving beers and cocktails. The mid afternoon snacks are more like a buffet lunch than a slice of cake. The breakfasts and 5 course diners are everything you would expect with wines ranging from 10 euros a glass up to what ever your budget is for a bottle. We had a Mountain View room with an infa red cabin room number 308 and the view was spectacular. It’s a large room with limited furnishings so felt spacious but not overly homely. But would recommend. The clientele is mainly Germans, Dutch and a handful of Americans and Brit’s .. it was nice being away from the madness of Sölden. The only down side is the gondala back to the hotel starts at 8:45 and finishes at 16:00 so you have to be off the mountain before others if you can’t ski back. We had a great weeks holiday …

From booking to leaving, the staff were efficient and easy to deal with. On arrival, they put our bags in the room while we checked in. The room was a lot larger than I was expecting which was nice. The bed was comfortable. The room did get a little warm and we were able to open the balcony door a little to offset the heat. The food was tasty and had enough variety over the course of our stay. Loved the wellness area from working out in the gym to sitting in the sauna/pool overlooking the ski slopes. Great ski in/out area.
