Hotel Auenhof

We really enjoyed our stay at the Auenhotel. The hotel is family-run and you notice that immediately – the family and the entire staff were consistently accommodating and polite. The rooms and the entire building were very clean. Particularly noteworthy is the food, which was really very good. We are happy to recommend the Auenhotel and would come back anytime.

We were at the Auenhotel for the second time now and it was just beautiful again. The house is located in the middle of Lanersbach, the bus stop is only a few meters away, and from there you are up in Hintertux towards the glacier or at the Finkenberg Almbahnen towards Penken in no time. If you like, you can take the bus to Mayrhofen and from there take the train further out into the Zillertal. However, the immediate surroundings are completely enough for us: the local mountain is beautiful, you can get to the Tettensjoch, the Grüblspitze, or over to the Eggalm directly from the front door, and there is really no shortage of tour options. We would particularly like to highlight the guided program. We hiked with the hotel for a day and were driven beforehand to the Nasse Tuxalm, so to a corner that you otherwise hardly ever reach. We are collecting the summit stamps of the Tux municipality, and thanks to this tour we got three stamps at once, for which we otherwise would have probably been on the road for five to six hours longer. In terms of effort, we probably wouldn't have managed that on our own at all. We think it's really great that something like this is offered. There was also a guided bike tour, optionally with an e-bike or, as in our case, with our own bike. That was also a great day. Good food is almost taken for granted these days, but here it is in abundance. It is a three-quarter board. The breakfast is top-notch every day, very extensive, eggs and bacon are freshly prepared, and by one of the family members personally. At 3 p.m. there is a snack, once or twice a week with Kaiserschmarrn, which is simply amazing. In the evenings, à la carte and themed evenings alternate, sometimes Italian, sometimes a kitchen evening with a look behind the scenes, sometimes an evening with regional specialties. Everything is done with great care and tastes really good. The rooms are modern and new, the lounge is cozy. For us, it usually went like this: snack at 3 p.m., sauna from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., then a fine meal, and another round of games in the evening. Sport and relaxation can be perfectly combined here. We raved about it so much to our parents that they arrived at the same time for three or four days. That worked out great, too. But what really makes the whole thing complete is the family itself. From the senior boss and the senior boss's wife to the current boss and his wife, all the way to the children, who were even there for the hike! Everyone is incredibly nice, warm, and attentive. You feel welcome from the very first moment, not like a guest, but rather like a part of the house. Clear recommendation, we will be back.

Hotel in an excellent location, with somewhat dated rooms. In ours, the refrigerator was positioned in front of the closet, probably waiting for a permanent spot. The spa is very clean, even if the sauna and Turkish bath could perhaps use a renovation. We also tried the restaurant for dinner, but unfortunately the quality did not live up to expectations: the Wiener Schnitzel was barely edible. The breakfast, however, was very rich and varied. A definitely positive note for the staff, always attentive, kind, and helpful.
