Foersterhof

Nicely located hotel with friendly staff within walking distance of downtown. The bathroom is not suitable for the elderly because of the high step into the bath and a clumsy shower in the bath. The restaurant is closed two days a week. There is no opportunity to make your own coffee or tea.

Unfortunately, in my view, this hotel in no way meets the standard one can expect from a 4-star establishment. On the second day of our stay, there were still crumbs from the previous day on the floor. The bed linen was dirty and simply not changed for fresh ones. At breakfast, the topping for the Bircher muesli was already fermented – hygienically absolutely unacceptable. The room smelled musty, the beds creaked with every movement, and the toilet flush was constantly running. Our room was also one of the few that did not have a balcony. Furthermore, there was no refrigerator in the room. The Wi-Fi only worked partially or very poorly. Overall, the stay was a waste of money for the price charged. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Försterhof for two nights and overall had a pleasant stay. The location is excellent, with free parking, a private beach, and friendly staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast offered a good selection of regional products, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre of St. Wolfgang. On the downside, the mattress was extremely soft, the room had a few maintenance issues (a loose tap and a cracked sink), and we found the drinks at the hotel restaurant overpriced for what they were. Overall, it's a good hotel with some great amenities, but there are a few areas that could be improved.
