Steigenberger Linz Hotel

I was very disappointed with my stay. The river view pictures on the website look photoshopped and are very misleading. I booked two rooms and requested a river view if possible. At reception, they told us both rooms had a river view. After checking in, one room had no river view at all, and from the other room you could only see a small part of the river if you leaned your head out of the window. If a real river view costs extra, they should clearly say so instead of misleading guests. For a 4-star hotel, the rooms don’t even have basic amenities like bottled water or a coffee/tea maker. The Sunday breakfast was also disappointing. The fruits were ice cold, as if they had just come out of the fridge, and none of the bread seemed fresh. I really don’t understand how this hotel is rated 4 stars. Even if it’s cheaper than other hotels, it’s not worth the money. I would not stay here again.

Everything is good. Parking in front of the building, at least overnight, would be quite practical.

Unpleasant experience in the restaurant. After a six-hour drive, I went to dinner at 8:40 PM. The waitress informed me that the kitchen was closed and only frozen Pinsa Romana was available. Unfortunately, I had to accept that and sat down at a table. Not two minutes later, the man at the adjacent table received his food. To my surprise, I found that the kitchen was indeed open at that time. Since there were only a few guests (five) in the restaurant and everyone was either eating or just starting to eat, it certainly would not have been a problem to cook for one more person. Given that hamburgers were being served with fries, the preparation time could not have been too long. I do not want to say that the customer is always right, but exceptions are certainly warranted.
