Hotel And Palais Strudlhof

Beautiful property a short time from the center of Vienna, excellent value for money; if you can, also have breakfast, which is excellent and abundant at a cost of 12 euros per person (Vienna is not an inexpensive city), so take advantage of the excellent price; the car parking under the hotel is extra (25 euros per day), parking costs a lot; I had a good experience, bye until next time.

I booked a 4* with air conditioning, hot days in Vienna, 30ºC. I arrived on Saturday and a sign everywhere announcing AC broken throughout the hotel and that "they are repairing it". On Tuesday when I left it was still not working. They had put two fans in the room but one did not work. I asked for it to be changed for 3 days to 4 different people. NOTHING. On the 1st day, I opened the window at night to cool things down. A grasshopper came in. I couldn't leave it open when I left either because the fire escape went past my window and anyone could get in. They don't clean unless you leave the card on the door, something they told me on the 2nd day when I complained. On the 3rd day, I left the sign and nobody came by either. In the afternoon, I asked that they at least change my towels and restock the toilet paper. When I returned at night, they had changed the towels, but I had to go down to the front desk for the paper. Mind you, on the day I was leaving, at 9:30 AM they were already opening my door to do the room. 20 minutes later, again. The room is very large, the bathroom too, with a bathtub and a very comfortable bed. That is all the good there is. The staff does nothing to compensate you or provide solutions; total indifference. Furthermore, the hotel is far from everything worth visiting, and the subway is far away. You have to take the streetcar and transfer. A lot of time is wasted. Neither for its facilities nor for its service is it a 4-star hotel. Mind you, you have to pay the tourist tax corresponding to a 4-star hotel, 2.09€/night. I neither recommend it nor will I return. There are many 4-star hotels at a good price in Vienna to choose a better one. They have ruined my trip.

The only downside for us was the lack of air-conditioning, it was unbearable to sleep even with the fan that was in the room .Looking back on reviews its now been out of action for 3 months ,this is totally unacceptable ,as they have a notice in the lift saying they are working to repair it ???? For 3 months ??? No apologies given ,just no its not fixed yet ,it should not be advertised as having air con if its not working .The location is a bit out ,but we used uber ,and there are some great restaurants and bars within walking distance
