Hotel Geblergasse

Avoid this hotel if you want to rest or on the hot night. The rooms are extremely noisy. We could hear conversations of neighbours as if they were in the same room, late into the night. We could hear every movement in the adjacent room, we could literally figure out what the guests next door are doing at all times. The walls seem to be made of paper. We could hear tv next room as if was in ours. The other neighbours opposite our windows had loud discussions till late night, we had to close the windows which made the room very hot (there in no aircon and the metal fan is very loud and clunky so we couldn't use it. If anybody passes on the corridor, it sounds like they are in our room. This hotel was very badly designed, unsuitable for its purpose. I don't think anybody sleeps there! If you want to have a good night sleep, avoid this place!

We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2026. Pros: 1) Location was good. We had metro and tram stations within 5 minutes walk. There are reasonable eating options nearby. 2) The tariff was cheap. 3) The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the sizes were adequate. 4) The front desk was operational round the clock and the staff were courteous and spoke excellent English. 5) Room cleaning was done everyday. 6) The WIFI was free with great speed and connectivity. 7) The place is quiet at night and the sleep quality is good. 8) There is a covered parking right across the street. Cons: 1) This is a common complaint in most of our hotels in Austria. There is no air conditioning or fan in the room. It was difficult till things cooled down in the late evening/night. 2) None of the important city sights are within walking distance. But, Vienna has an excellent public transport system.

Very low price per night (22€/pax) in triple without breakfast. Comfortable mattresses. structure a bit old-fashioned. We had problems with cleaning for towels not changed but the reception staff immediately provided. For breakfast I recommend jozes backerei to 3 minnuts walk and BrauBar for dinner if you want a super Viennese cutlet!
