Mercure Josefshof

1st visit to Vienna and hope it won’t be the last. Lovely independent hotel in a very quiet street just behind the Rathaus, trams and U bahn on your doorstep ( some work currently being done on the U bahn) No need to rush in the morning, as you are going to walk your feet off, breakfast room open till 12:00. Room 409 strange shape with little view but that did not matter, kept by housekeeping perfectly, thank you. All staff we came across lovely and friendly, overall good value for excellent location and service.

We had a fabulous 4 night stay. The hotel location was very convenient to major attractions (museumsquarterier, natural history, Hofburg Palace) and only 15-20 mins walk to the centre and St Stephan’s Cathedral. The public transport is less than 5 minutes away. (underground and trams). The hotel staff at reception and during breakfast were very friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed the variety of hot and cold food at breakfast time (including for vegetarian). The room was modern, spacious and very clean, including the spacious bathroom. We booked the hotel directly and got a great deal with them and so was great value. I can highly recommend this hotel for visitors to Vienna.

The hotel is beautiful! Old world meets new decor. The rooms were beautiful, clean, had teapots and coffee machines, blow dryers and even lovely macaroons to welcome you. The staff is extremely kind, respectful and accommodating. I am so, so, glad we stayed there and will recommend them to everyone I know.
