Mercure Wien City Hotel

Absolutely optimal location to explore Vienna. Due to the proximity to Schwedenplatz (600 m away), good connection to the public transport network. The rooms could use a fresh coat of paint and a cosmetic repair or two. Otherwise everything good - staff friendly and helpful, breakfast absolutely fine.

Location is good. Rooms toward street is not sound isolated. Standard room are not price valued. Good food and shopping places.

The most hard uncomfortable bed i have ever slept on and that’s from 61 years of experience. Easy solution would be to provide some mattress toppers. The pillows are also awful. Grim dated decor desperately needs an upgrade including a more modern TV Not really what i expected from the Mercure chain Fortunately i have an air mattress with me and blow up pillow which i needed last night…… i have 2 more nights here 🫤🫤 Only pros are location and it was cool enough during this current heat wave
