I want to warn anyone considering staying at Bristol Hotel in Baku — especially international guests. The hotel fails to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality. The bed linens are often in poor condition, and you have to beg for clean ones. The same applies to towels: sometimes they provide low-quality ones, and getting proper replacements requires repeated requests, as if you’re asking for a personal favor. The overall service is exhausting — nothing is done proactively, and guests must constantly ask, remind, and insist on even the simplest tasks. A particularly concerning incident involved a forgotten phone adapter. The hotel “found” it only 24 hours after the guest had already left the country, explaining that an employee “put it somewhere, but they don’t know where.” This raises serious concerns about staff integrity and gives the impression of potential theft, with the item being returned only when unavoidable. The adapter could only be collected because local friends in Baku picked it up — the guest was already abroad. Unfortunately, I cannot provide photos, as I did not expect the situation to turn out this poorly and didn’t think to document it. I wish I had taken pictures as evidence, so future visitors to Azerbaijan would not fall victim to such inhospitable hotel owners and management. I do not recommend this hotel, neither for its service quality nor for its treatment of guests, especially those coming from other countries.

My friend and I had booked rooms at this hotel in early October. Frankly, our expectations about the hotel were so high before we arrived, they offered us rooms at a great price that opened the balcony directly to Nizami street with a good view, but we were very disappointed when we arrived. Plus, the cleanliness of the room, comfort, and in-house conditions were very poor. The bed was so rough, it felt like stones were piled underneath, so you slept all night, with a shower head and hot water in the trouble. The reception was rude and didn’t even appear when we asked for something. One of the details we didn’t like most was the fact that the hotel didn’t have an elevator and the steps were too long. Neither did they inform us about this fact. We even saw the old couple go to the hotel with a lot of torture in front of us, even too heavy for people with these bags and extra luggage.

All of the standard rooms open to the lobby, all the sounds in the response inside the room, you can't sleep from the constant talk noise late at night and early in the morning, there's no place to have breakfast, they give your room with plates but no table in the room, already breakfast is so bad that you don't want the next day, the hotel center but the entrance is in a dark street, I don't even want to say the number of stairs you need to climb, the one positive side is cleanliness, room bathroom very clean.
