Silver Point Hotel

This property is abandoned. It appears to have been abandoned for some time now. Neighbours said that COVID didn’t help but that management also disintegrated. Judging from the reviews, it was a lovely spot at one time and it is right on the beach, but I was ther in March and it is currently in ruins.

My room was renovated, clean and very nice with a great view. Picture below. I did not like that there are no elevators. Someone needed to come and carry my luggage up and down. What was the worst part for me, there is nothing nearby! If you don’t have a car it is very hard and expensive to get anywhere. I was starving and the only restaurant was theirs. It was pouring out and I had to walk outside to the restaurant. I wanted my meal to go, so I carried it back in the rain without a good cover for it. When I did get back to the room the food was awful and trashed it. There needs to be more eating options! I couldn’t stay for more than 1 night.

I stayed one night and booked the hotel last minute. Wasn’t sure what to expect given some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. My room was a standard king but actually was a suite with separate living area and kitchenette. The staff were attentive and helpful and made me feel very welcome. They were flexible with my check out time and the security staff were always offering to help with my bags. Highly recommend.
