It is absolutely not responsive to the quality / price ratio. First of all a B&B should include breakfast, instead we could only have a coffee. The room just meeting the required parameters, was on the top floor and through a terribly steep and narrow staircase.

Hello,
I would like to share my experience of staying at this property, as it seems important to me to do so because it left much to be desired.
We booked by booking from Friday 12/07/24 to Sunday 14/07/24 at "B&B La Ducale", Vlaanderenstraat 54, Ghent 9000 Belgium. The day before Check-out, we even added a date from Thursday 11/07/24 to Friday 12/07/24 to go there earlier. Our mistake was not to look at the reviews before booking but since the address was on booking, we relied on the platform.
We arrived on site early Thursday evening, we are greeted properly during check-in and we place our belongings in our room. We see a few people in the building. Our first night went well. On Friday, the day after the first night on site, we stay in the room because there is heavy rain that morning, we took the opportunity to plan our stay. My partner went to the bathroom and I was in the room when I saw a mouse. I told him immediately, but too late: the mouse went to the chest of drawers before I could photograph it.
It seems to me necessary to make it clear that all our comments which will follow, with the exception of the mouse which, I repeat, we did not have time to take pictures of, are compiled in photos and videos; files which we have already sent to Booking and which will be available to whoever rightly needs them.
Following this sinister discovery, we looked everywhere to find it: by moving the cabinet we notice a hole in the wall at the level of the complaint but we do not find the mouse. However, we warn directly the property owner, Dina, who plays the surprise card and tries to make us look like liars by telling us that, since she has a cat, this has not happened for 6 or 7 years. We ask her to come see the room, we show her the hole in the complaint, she explains that it is for the connection of electricity: my partner worked in this area and you do not leave a hole in a wall to have access to the cables or for any other reason.
His reaction was very particular because there was no reassuring word or commercial gesture: RIEN. She tells us that all the rooms were full and that we could have another one the next day. In hindsight, I realize that this was to stay in the same room in order to discredit ourselves and minimize our future complaints and claims by pretending to be satisfied and unnecessarily complaining customers. Naïve, we believe that we have to ask her to come clean the room twice for hygiene (room that was already not clean on arrival), caulk the mouse hole and settle the concern of the clogged sink. Once alone in the room and after the discussion with the housekeeper, we plug the hole ourselves with a sheet lest the mouse come back. We were sending her the picture on Whatshaap when, at the same time, the clogged sink had started flowing from the siphon to the bathroom floor.
We continue our day; and having never had experience with rodents on our part, and still having confidence in the good faith of the host, we minimize the facts and tell ourselves that it is not a rat but a mouse and that the property owner will fix the problem. I would like to make it clear that we are a young couple with modest finances, so we considered staying especially since Mrs. Dina promised us a relocation solution for the next day. We decide to take it upon ourselves.
We return after visiting the city for the first time and on our return, it is clear that the room has not been cleaned so well that a piece of glass, Rating arrived on the first day, under the dresser (from which the mouse came out) is still present under the said dresser.
We also find that a new device has been installed on an outlet of the chamber, after searching on "Google Lens", we realize that it is an ultrasonic repellent device with rats and mice. Looking deeply into the operation of this particular tool, we read that the range of this device is only a few centimeters and the advertisement of this device states that it does not change the fact that the pests are in the walls and attic. In addition, we noticed something strange on her landing (where she lives although she claims it was her office): there was a bowl of rice in which there was a screw and a fruit on the floor next to this bowl (proof in photo sent to Booking), probably to attract and trap mice.
However, once the night has arrived and the calm has subsided in the Pension, I hear the mouse in the walls, I hear it or hear them moving in the attic. It's 4:30 and I still haven't closed my eye while my companion who sleeps more than he sleeps, wakes up alert for the 3rd time that night to hear the noise I describe and there we decide to leave (what we called at the time the best decision of our life as a couple). In short, a real HELL! It was then that we finally realized the situation we were in and my partner decided to take another Pension in the middle of the night.
I would also like to point out that it could also have been dangerous for us to leave the scene and find ourselves in an unknown city in the middle of the night, about 4:30 a.m.
We left having experienced an ordeal at this Inn and we were not helped at all by the property owner who therefore gave no sign of life.
We returned the next day, Saturday 13/07/24, to hand-deposit the keys to the property owner and inform her that we had left the Pension the night before. We rang to stop entering this building because the experience was so traumatic, but no answer. To our dismay, we then entered the building to find the lady but surprised: no one on site except an old lady who spoke a foreign language that is incomprehensible to me and who lives on the 1st floor with the property owner in the pseudo office mentioned above. Searching on the upper floors, we could see that all the rooms were empty may no trace of the keeper of the premises. We returned the next day, our last day in Ghent, for the same purpose as the day before and we made a video to the property owner showing her that the keys had been placed in the mailbox. NO CHECK OUT on his part, which further highlights his bad faith.

The location is amazing. The hostess was very kind to us. The hotel is old but it is good.
Check-in starts too late (4pm) and the hotel has no reception. You must contact the host if you are going to arrive earlier. If you are going to leave your suitcases at the hotel before they give you your room, you must leave them in a corridor to which everyone has access. A Little bit weird
