We have travelled the globe extensively, including throughout Europe, and this was on of our favorite hotels to date! Our 4 nights there in May were perfection for so many reasons. You could not ask for a better location, on the most beautiful spot on the water in central Ghent, yet the hotel is peaceful and quiet. Lobby is modern, with complimentary water and coffee/tea beverages offered around the clock. Our room was newly renovated, spacious, and well-equipped with one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. We loved our breakfast each morning - it was not only tasty with a great variety but you sit in pretty, quaint rooms with a lovely view. Lastly, the staff were outstanding, so helpful and friendly, whether at the front desk, in the restaurants, or with housekeeping. If you are debating where to stay within Ghent, look no further!

We upgraded to canal view prestige which was worth every penny. The room was awesome. Each to walk to everything we wanted to see and do. Easy to walk back to the hotel for a rest or even use the toilet if we needed to. Complimentary mini bar and water. Really made our city break enjoyable to go back to our lovely room. Service was excellent. Hotel lobby and bar have a good atmosphere. We had lunch on the Terrace and evening meal which was lovely. Price is on the upper bracket but good food. We drove to Ghent for UK in our EV. Reserved parking is €55 a day, and charging was a good price at €0.68 per kWh cheaper than UK service stations charging.

We have been Marriott Bonvoy members for many years. We have always enjoyed our stays at any Marriott property so we decided to stay at one in Ghent Belgium. We were staying for our anniversary. From the onset, at check-in, we were first not given the room we had reserved. This resulted in a change of rooms for which we paid an up-charge. We were given a free drink at the Poppi bar. Really enjoyed it; however, we never saw the waiter again so we could not even order a second drink if we wanted one. What left a particularly poor memory was our last night of stay. We were not informed or told that half of the Ghent music festival would be on the canal right outside our windows. There was absolutely no sleep that night. We were on the first floor and the excessively loud music with the added feature of strobe lights made for a horrible night. We asked for a wake up call the next morning, 5:30 AM, and that did not happen. The irony is we were pretty much awake from the music the night before so we were able to make our flight. On the positive side of our stay, the breakfast at the hotel restaurant on the premises was very good and the staff there provided great service.
