Nice hotel just outside the bustle of Leuven. The Old Market is a 10-minute walk away. Please note: the streets and pavements are lousy; not useful if you are less able to walk. Because of not being able to walk properly, also not being able to use the room that was allocated in the old part. A second one that was also there, even if not. Finally got a room in the new part of the hotel. Great room, with excellent air conditioning. Good bed. Spacious bathroom. Somewhere a background hum that we were unable to point home, eventually slept through. What we really liked: parking garage (although it is a bit small), breakfast room and offer. Location. Clean and spacious room. Friendly staff, friendly staff. What could be better: the online reservation system that allows you to not know what type of room you have booked. Too many guests who are sent back to reception at breakfast to book breakfast. Why doesn't something like this happen at check-in? Bar was empty and closed early - perhaps due to the warm summer weather (luckily nearby Curatio was a very good alternative).

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Unfortunately, our first night wasn't very comfortable because none of the three rooms we were assigned had functioning air conditioning, and we happened to be visiting during a summer heat wave. When we called the front desk, we were told that the hotel was fully booked, so it wasn't possible to switch rooms that night. The receptionist offered to look for fans when she had a chance, but unfortunately, we never received them. Thankfully, our experience improved significantly the next day. The reception staff on duty were incredibly helpful. They assisted us in switching rooms, personally checked the new rooms with us to ensure the air conditioning was working properly, and provided excellent recommendations for exploring the local area. While the first night was challenging, we appreciated how professionally and attentively the daytime staff handled the situation.

I received as a gift a wonderbox voucher for a night away. Through the site of wonderbox I ended up at Martins Monastery in Leuven. I didn't find any available dates anywhere on Wonderbox's site. Before I order the receipt, I call the hotel. I clearly state that I want to make a reservation for next Saturday with a wonder box and ask if there is availability. The man on the line says that there is availability and that I have to make my reservation through the site of wonderbox. After hearing this, I created the order via Wonderbox and only get to see the available dates (totally illogical that you have to confirm the activity first and I had to pay an extra 30 eur before you can see the available dates!). On the site of wonderbox I only get the opportunity to make a reservation on Friday or Sunday. I call the employee back, he says that he had looked at it from the wonder box after my phone (so was not aware). Checks info with his colleague again, informs that the data via Wonderbox may be different from those he can see but that there is availability. I was to explode! What unprofessionalism and uncustomer friendliness. I could also see the availability through their website. That's why I called to see if the wonderbox is working this weekend. I asked for a solution, again the answer 'There is availability'. I reply that he then gave me wrong information, so I now have an order with them. Again the answer 'I did not give wrong information, there is availability'. Totally no concession or effort to reach a solution, outrageous! If you have no knowledge of it or gave wrong information, just admit it instead of obstinately persisting.
