Best Western Hotel Melba

We stayed in a family room on the top floor that could accommodate 6 in two connected rooms. There is no air conditioning but the second room has a sliding door (no balcony) and 4 sky light windows that open quite a bit, but this is only helpful once the sun is down, otherwise we had all the blinds and curtains pulled to keep the June sun from baking the room. There are two portable air coolers but they worked only minimally so we unplugged them and relied on the fan. The rooms need more light and a second fan but the 4 twin beds are comfortable and the shower is unique but functional. There is a couch (can be a pullout bed but we didn’t try it) and table with ample chairs that we found comfortable. It’s very quiet day and night. We did not enjoy the hotel restaurant but breakfast was very good. Parking is free in a lot behind the hotel and the staff is very helpful. I’d say this is a good place to stay for the price with or without kids unless there is a heatwave.

The hotel is on a quiet street about a 5-10 minute flat walk from the centre of Bastogne so easy access to bars and restaurants and museums. Check in was very easy with very friendly receptionist. Easy parking and reasonably secure for motorcycles. Everywhere public and the bedrooms were clean, neat and tidy. Although no air conditioning there are fans in the rooms but as we were unfortunately there during the June heatwave it was somewhat warm/hot. I imagine in normal weather it would be absolutely fine. Breakfast was very good, a nice buffet spread and all seemed good quality. All the staff we interacted with were friendly, helpful and professional. We were a group of four and everyone was impressed and if we return to this area we would stay here again.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Melba. The location is ideal: a short walk from the center of Bastogne, making shops, restaurants and attractions easily accessible. The hotel also has ample and free parking, which makes the stay extra comfortable. The rooms were neat and comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is an excellent base for exploring Bastogne and the beautiful Ardennes, with several museums, hiking trails and other attractions in the immediate vicinity. In short: a well-kept hotel in a quiet location, close to the city centre, with ample parking space and a perfect base for excursions in the area. Definitely recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
