Hecco Sarajevo

The Hecco hotel is in a fabulous position it's a few minutes walk away from the centre of the old town. Things to note it's one of the last if not the last x communist builds left in the street,so don't expect hi tech hotel, you have to get a lift from ground floor to reception ( floor 9) then after that it's stairs only to what floor you are staying on..( no lift available) so if you are disabled walking wise bear this in mind ..however there is a cafe on the next floor up from reception where you can sit on the surrounding balconies and what a view!!!!( No Alcohol served ) Coffee ,cake that sort of thing....room was adequate dated obviously ( communist building) but personally l like it especially out views from our room and especially our bathroom...staff were lovely and very helpful.. I would give the breakfast a miss ..go downstairs to the street within yards plenty of places to eat and get coffee.. Loved Sarejavo.. Would definitely go back..

You should get a fix sometime. Seat upholstery worn, sheets too small for the beds, little space in the bathroom to store your belongings.

I spent 2 nights here, very basic hotel. There is very poor lighting in the room , only 1 bedside light. There is no main central light. Very comfortable bed , room clean and tidy. The shower was very powerful. The hotel toiletries were in little sachets , which were very difficult to open. There are no holders in the shower for soap or shampoo. Breakfast was very basic, but OK. The hotel is situated up a steep hill, at least a 15-minute walk from the centre of town. There is no lift .
