Cocoon Hotel & Lounge

Since the place has no dedicated parking, you have to park on the street and therefore you are subject to the local car parking opportunist who earns a living out of "selling" you a free parking space. From the outside, the place looks something in between a strip joint and a night club, but it is not totally disagreeable. The architecture looks somewhat different and interesting. At the check-in I discovered that in addition to the price agreed at Booking.com they charge an additional 10% gratuity, and that supposedly all hotels charge one way or another. I disagree: in most hotels I go to, whatever is agreed on Booking.com is what I end up paying. Right off the bat you feel like you're dealing with a cheap car salesman. The door to the room is a sliding glass door, so you hear everything when someone walks by. Additionally, two levels of curtains is what prevents people from the outside of seeing what happens in the intimacy of your room. One curtain is a black-out curtain, the other one is translucid but allows passersby to see what is going on inside, so if you're in the room during the day and don't want to turn the light on, you have to be on display like in a shopping window. The room looks like a brazilian motel room, but it doesn't look too bad. The room size is good, 24 m2. Some walls are made of drywall, so the sound insulation is not good. You hear plumbing noises, and my room as close to a kitchen, so in the morning I could hear them preparing for breakfast. The bed is big and the mattress ok. I managed to rest. The air conditioning unit is a "split" type, although too noisy, when it should be silent. The shower is electric, large dish. Total stupidity as in Salvador is often sunny. The owner could install solar heating modules and save a lot of money in electricity bills. The shower box is good and the water pressure ok. The toiletries are very bad quality, although for the price paid it is understandable. Breakfast - very good natural orange juice. Good fruits, well cut. Scrambled egg as usual made with too much margarine. To go with the scrambled eggs, bad quality sausages with tomato sauce. Is that all brazilian hotels are capable of? In other words, now I understand that on a Friday, when Paul McCartney is playing in Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, and all hotels are booked, I found a room at Cocoon. Stay here only if you can't find anywhere else to stay.

Food and service was very slow even a simple thing as a drink stayed 3 Days and very up and down food very good for lunch and bad at night just made you feel not 100 % what you gona get due to very bad weather we spend many hours in the hotel to experience to service level

This hotel is out of the way, doesn't have much of a pool and the beach across the street is dirty and filled with trash. also a woman got robbed right outside of the entrance one late afternoon. The rooms are fine, but no one speaks English and there are no cabs around to take you anywhere, need a car.
