Best hotel in my life, I just didn't like the location, but perfect view, giant pool, impeccable breakfast, helpful staff, 10-rated kitchen, famous guests, agile and helpful staff, cozy rooms, I really loved it

Sol Bahia is located outside Salvador downtown and turistic places. Its unique advantage is the location near the airport. I would not recommend it for touristic purpose because its infrastructure is decayed needing refurbishment. Its service is regular, bar and restaurant with few attendants non-speaking english. Room bed mattress needs substitution. The hotel is located on the top of hill. If you are not able to scalate don’t stay otherwise every time will go out should ask a cab.

During the World Cup, we knew we were going to get gouged, especially when internet problems delayed us booking a room until after the USA-Belgium match was set. Looking at the photos, we figured it was a sort of faded-glory 1970's palace, and expected a bit of dinginess and knew it would be a bit out of the way. Let's start with the worst part. Every single door on our floor had pry marks near the door handle. And by this i mean massive gouges in the edge of the door near the lock. In fact, if i looked closely, i'd be able to see into my brother and sister-in-law's room, through the hole *left by someone breaking into the room just like they once did every other room on the floor*. Maybe that's a thing to fix sooner than some other things. Some of the outdoor corridors smell like urine. The bartender intended to keep my 50-reais note for three beers, and finally came back with insufficient change from his own wallet. The mirror in my room was broken, and had fallen off the wall. The light switches mostly don't work. The rooms smell bad. There are stains on the walls. This place should be amazing, it's got a commanding view of the coast and an already-built patio that should be the best place to sit for miles around. And yet it's the sort of place to sleep in your clothes and watch your pockets. Only kind thing i can say is that their breakfast buffet was actually quite good. Nevertheless, as i said, there are definitely worse places to stay in Salvador. But don't stay here. Have some pride in your work, people.
