We stayed here for the last night of Carnival and loved it so much we stayed on. Its a bus ride away from Barra and Centro but is 5 min walk from a great beach with swimming, surfing, & Kite surfing.
Terrazzo da Bahia are basically serviced apartments rather than a hotel but the service we received was a match for the best Pousada's we stayed at in Brazil.
Matteo was simply brilliant and really looked out for us.
The apartment had good sized bedroom with huge walk in wardrobe, front room / kitchenette and a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. It was great to have our own space for a few days. It was clean and very pleasant.
Final word is to say that the comunal areas are lovely with a fantastic pool... 20m infinity pool over looking the beach that you can actually swim in. All the residents were very friendly as well.
Can't recommend Terrazzo da Bahia highly enough if you are in Salvador
