Hostel Safari

This is a good comfortable hostel in a good location. I broke a couple of ribs in the Pantanal and stayed here for a couple of nights while recovering. The owner couldn't do enough for me. Thank you again and especially for even taking me for a follow up at the hospital. They also help as much as they can to organise a tour that suits you. A good choice.

Mid September me and a friend went on a three days’ jaguar tour with Laercio, which was a great experience. Laercio knows Pantanal like the back of his hand, which led us to the jaguar! Besides his knowledge, he is great company. During our stay at Porto Jofre we did a lot of activities. For example we went for night walks, boat rides to spot the jaguars, jeep rides, caiman spotting at night and so on. If you want your tour to be interesting and awesome, you should really go for Laercio! Thanks again for this great experience!

I highly recommend staying in this hostel while in Cuiabá. It is very close to the city centre. Bedrooms and shared bathrooms are nicely decorated and are kept clean, there is a well-equipped kitchen and the people working there immediately made us feel like home. Overall the quality is very high for the price you pay. When we arrived, we hadn't booked a Pantanal Tour yet, and after comparing companies and prices eventually arranged one via the hostel. Although we made our booking last-minute, Laercio took us on a fantastic 4 day trip for a very competitive price. My boyfriend and I are both biologists and we had high expectations, and Laercio did all he could to make it the unforgettable experience we had hoped for. We liked the fact that he keeps his groups small, and that there is some flexibility in the excursions he takes you on. He really personalized our tour simply by observing what we liked as a group, always with a big smile and tons of enthousiasm, and for that I think he is the perfect guide. We saw jaguars, a tapir, anaconda, giant otters and so much more. We highly recommend going on a tour with Laercio. Thank you, Laercio!
