Pousada Coco Verde

I ended up here because there were no more lodging options in Ponta Negra on a holiday. They allowed me to choose among some rooms, but, regardless of the choice, the reported problems would not be resolved. The room is tiny. A few benches to store part of what was brought as luggage. In the end, most of it got messy in the bag... on the floor. This is another establishment where I couldn't do the home office, because there is no table or chair. That alone would remove this inn from my list. I got a chair from the tables outside. The air conditioner worked well, but the remote control battery was dead and I was forced to use my own battery. The TV had terrible reception of local channels, so I connected it via HDMI to the laptop. Few outlets. The only good surprise was the refrigerator. The wifi internet was good most of the time, but that didn't prevent there from being instability. Terrible sleep quality. At night it was the guest in the room upstairs who was dragging a bed. During the day, other guests gathered at the outdoor tables to chat. In the recording where I made my impressions, it was possible to hear the conversation outside that never stopped. There was simply no peace. A lot of light leaks through the door, always remembering that Nascente in Natal is in the early morning. Also, the mattress is very hard, the pillows are bearable. It was common, with the movement at night, to wake up with nothing between me and the mattress. Alternatively, because of this same movement, the sheet created ripples under my body and left me all marked. It was common to wake up in the middle of the night and lose sleep time to keep straightening the sheet. Why don't Brazilian hotels use sheets that are the correct size for the bed and have elastic? Wouldn't this cost be not worth it to have the guest satisfied? The bed and bath linens were of good quality. The bathroom is almost the size of the room. The shower area was huge. The bath linen was what he considered the minimum: 2 bath towels, one face towel and a mat, so that there wouldn't be a need to change during a short stay. The amenities (shampoo and soap) were missing. There is no breakfast, what for me doesn't take points (nor adds). I didn't have room service until checkout so I cannot review. I didn't use the pool either, which for me only serves to increase the daily rate. Considering that I am not a "regular tourist," as I have lived in hotels for over a decade, in what I value most in TV programming, air conditioning, mini-bar, wifi internet, maintenance, and service, location, sleep quality, and finally, the most important thing, the relationship between these and the daily rate, I would say the inn was bad. No home office, no peace and bad sleep. The difference was the refrigerator. It's a good thing that after all these years of staying in hotels, habits have been created such as: if I don't know the establishment, I make a very short stay, because that way, the loss is smaller.

Pousada Coco Verde has an excellent location if you are planning to enjoy the Ponta Negra beach and the nightlife of Natal. The inn is situated right in the middle of the best nightlife area of the Ponta Negra neighborhood and you can reach the beach in a few minutes. You can also go to the city center in 45 minutes by taking a bus at the main street (the price was 2.30 Reais, paid on the bus). The rooms are not particularly large, but they are nice. All hotel amenities are satisfactory and everything functions. The inn has an interesting policy about entry and exit. The front door is always kept locked, and you are given two keys: One for the front door and one for your room. As a result of this policy, you may not see the staff each time you enter/exit, but they are always around. My overall experience at this inn was very positive and I would definitely come back.
