Hotel Avenida Palace

The hotel is closed. Forbidden building, looks like an archaeological ruin. The TripAdvisor team should take him off the list. The first photo is from the Atlantic that is working. In the photo section there is a mix of photos of two distinct hotels.

It was almost impossible to drive a private car up to the hotel but having parked our car nearby, we were told at the reception desk that they had got us down for 2 single rooms (in spite of having booking confirmations requesting a double and a twin room for our family of 4). On finally getting to our rooms, we found one was a nice double with a decent view on the 8th floor, while the twin room was like a musty prison cell on the 4th floor, with a view of the interior hotel well, a broken TV, no bath plug, no extra towels, no ventilation in the bathroom, a somewhat unappealing carpet, and altogether a most depressing ambience... no chance of changing the room as the hotel was fully booked. The lifts were slow and outdated, the so-called swimming pool was more like a jacuzzi plunge pool, there were far too few places to sit near the pool and an expensive Eur 5 beer was served in a plastic beaker. In its favour, the hotel location is excellent, but our 4th floor room was shaken by passing metro trains - lower floors must suffer even worse. I'd strongly advise potential guests to avoid room 462. I don't know how the hotel star system works, but this hotel is worth 2-3 stars at most and 4 stars is a joke.

Old hotel but clean and nice and helpful people. There is a parking in back of hotel which is very good. The location is very good, just in front of the beach. But be careful of what room you choose: the rooms with a splendid view are not ok to sleep , because of the noise of the traffic. The back rooms are quiet. The breakfast place has a very nice view also to the ocean.
