Marina Holiday Club

We were really looking forward to staying at 4 star hotel Marina Holiday Club but we were left disappointed with the food standards and the state of the kids playground and surroundings. We have contacted the hotel and expressed our concerns and we were emailed back from management in an unprofessional manner and dismissing everything that was mentioned. Rooms needed slight improvement as some furniture was broken (such as chairs in our apartment), stained bedding and towels, plug sockets were loose which we did not expect with a 4 star hotel but this wasn’t our main concern. Children’s play area is a major hazard to children with most of the equipment being broken (see pictures below)! Entertainers Emi and Eric were amazing as they did their best to try entertain all the children but there is a lack of resources as all they seemed to do during the day is drawing in the mini club. Regarding the food, we were being served raw meats of the grill constantly (please see pictures below) and when we complained about it, we were just offered another piece that was cooked in the same batch which would still be as raw as the one we was given in the first place. Food like salads and dairy products are left out in the warm room but they should be kept in a cold compartment really. The butter was not eatable because they leave it out for breakfast to melt in the warm room and then put it back in the fridge and serve it next day, it was tasting off every day. I was going to serve yoghurt to my son one day and I went to taste it before giving it to him just to be save and i had to spit it out as it was spoiled. We were forced to eat out most days because of these constant issues, very poor for an 4 star hotel and unsafe for your customers! Most of the staff were polite and hard working, seeing the same faces all day every day from 8am till 10pm. We are absolutely gutted that we have thrown nearly £2k on this holiday and wish we chose differently. We do not recommend this hotel and we will definitely not be returning.

Hotel in its self is ok, very basic but the food! Omfg I wouldn’t feed this sh1t to my dog, tempted to commit a petty crime as the prison food cannot be any worse then this swill being served up here. Will be complaining when we finally escape this concentration camp

Just got back from a week here 2 adults 3 children age 9, 11 and 12 , it was average... definatley not a 4* hotel... not many ( infact zero ) english people which was difficult. communication was difficult wth staff. we arrived at around 12 midday and were given our room key but told no wristbands for all inc until 2 pm ( lunch finished at 2pm which meant we missed it ) having travelled since 2am that morning we were hungry and thirsty. I asked if i could purchase a drink and was told NO! ( the restaurant lady was quite rude and abrupt) we went a little walk and found a lovely little shop we purchased some cans from and headed back. I personally found the all inclusive very strange here, its nothing like i've been to before but we hadn't been to bulgaria before. The buffet was small (very small) with very limited choice... because of this we ended up eating out quite a bit! the drinks also didnt have much variety! breakfast was 8am-10am.... lunch 12-2pm and then dinner 6:30-9pm when the restaurant was open the pool bar was not... very strange.... but as we stayed we realised they didnt have many staff , they were all very young and worked long shifts with not many days off... this is probably why! one particular day the coffee machines broke, followed by the juice machine, i was told if i go to reception that i can pay 2lv and they will make me good coffee- this annoyed me firstly ive already paid for the coffee with all inc and secondly on our first day we were told we couldnt purchase a drink !?!?! the young boy chef was brilliant, so helpful , great english and very friendly... the entertianment on offer was actually ok, the entertainment staff were brill and very friendly but again strange times and not alot going off in the daytime... 10am dancing on the bridge by pool... then over to do crafts in kids club. afternoon not sure as we didnt spend much time around there during this time and didnt notice anything going on when we did. evening entertainment was better but they didnt follow the schedule advertised in reception.... they had a few show's on fire dancing ...traditional bulgarian dancing, fluffy animal costumes, kareoke and bingo. one day we walked accross the road to the sunset aqua park - which the children loved (i will review seperatly if i can) Overall it was a nice spacious room and a good base to go exploring. pomorie seems a bit run down and quiet compared to other resorts. there is a huge abondoned 5*hotel next door which i imagine has impacted the resort massivley! it really is such a shame! We explored quite alot whislt here and visited sunny beach, nessebar and old nessebar really easily on public transport ( although alot of locals are rude and would rather have their bag on a seat next to them than give up a seat for a tourist, and the ticket people just make up the price depending on their mood im sure) it was really easy and cheap to catch the bus to and from the airport to pomoire for this hotel. if you do stay here i wouldnt waste money on all inclusive in my opinion. the weather was glorious, we had a lovely time and would definatley visit bulgaria again, maybe not this hotel or pomorie though... hope this is helpful :)
