Palm Court

We went for a late deal with Thomson in SEPT 2008 and was very disappointed. Firstly we naively believed the travel rep when bookin who said that this holiday WOULD NOT be full of "drunken groups" as we just wanted a relaxing trip away. So we get to Bulgaria and a guess what? we get on the coach transfer and we are the oldest people (im 24 and my bf is 31 so we aint old). We get to the apartments and the woman in reception is the most miserable old bag in Bulgaria, not exactly the holiday welcome we was expecting. Once we finally got to our room (not that we were guided or instructed how to get there and just had to wonder around in the dark to find it) we were pleasantly surprised about the space we had. It could of easily fitted 6, just for us two seemed a blessing. We decided to go for drink at "the hotel bar", we ordered a couple of Vodka&Cokes and charged 6lv...cheap but the bar man shockingly has no change so we have to just give him a 10lv (which is not alot but not the point), i didnt mind til i saw the grubby bloke pocket about 40lv after half a hour of fleecing us and the new arrivals. The apartment was never cleaned even though there cleaners had come in cos we had new loo roll, the sheets where never changed (if you can call the sheets, a paper thin fitted sheet on a mattress and a grubby old duvet that we found in a wardrobe). The Loo was practically in the shower we was interesting to say the least. As you can imagine being in apartments with "drunken children" often meant that we was woken at 5am by naked, screaming people jumping in a freezing pool. And to top it off there obviously were bugs/fleas in the apartment and i have been bites all over my legs. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS U ARE 18 AND JUST WANT A GRUBBY OLD PLACE TO CRASH BETWEEN THE DARK AND EASILY MUG-GABLE WALK BETWEEN BARS AND COCKTAIL HOURS. i feel sorry for the people that were arriving after us and there seemed be a few older couples and even a family with children. Bulgaria on the other hand is a lovely place, cheap, friendly and beautiful beach. I would recommend it but be careful where u stay. Think that you should defiantly fully check out places before you go cheap late deals else u might get stuck in this dump of a "apartment complex" like this....oh and the sunny beach mall is ridiculous, nothing it is advertised to be, Good Luck finding the Piano Bar lol

recently returned from 2 weeks at palm court. overall i thought the hotel was a bit of a joke. had 2 pay 40levs deposit on arrival, which we only found out as we checked in. all the staff barely spoke a word of english, especially the miserble security who'd shout stuff at you in bulgarian and expect u 2 understand. the rooms wernt 2 bad, but dont think we had clean towels or bed sheets the whole time we were there. and the shower head was broken, leaving the bathroom absolutley soaked everytime u used the shower. after being in bulgaria no more than about 4 hours, a couple of people unsuccesfully tried 2 beat me and a friend up whilst walkin back 2 our hotel, and on the last night i got robbed whilst less than a minute away, so definatley stay in groups. i wudnt really recommend this hotel atall, but if u are thinkin of goin, id only recommend it 2 young people like myslef who/ll be spendin most of their time drinkin and not really carin about the state of it. despite all the bad stuff tho, proberly the best holiday ive been on.

we jst come back 2 aug from palm court after learning it was thompson freestyle we wre worried as we have a 12 and 15 year old girls; we neednt have worried we all had fab time it was a little noisey at times but it didnt bother us people go on holiday to lets there hair down and have fun and thats what we all did the app were split into blocks .we were in the krim part it had its own pool and reception we did go to the other pool but prefered ours as the sun was there longer.our app was on the ground floor nd had a washing machine the only down side was it was quite a walk to the centre ok on way there bt on way back we had to walk through a small unlit run down park , it was a little scarey having our to girls with us but everything was ok and we didnt have any trouble thank god .the app didnt seem to have a late bar were we could end the night by late i mean 12midnight it would have been nice jst to have a drink closer to our app but always had to go to centre .disco orange is jst over the main road from app we to ld to go but there was always long queues to get in only heard noise from there when sitting on balcony but once indoors we couldnt hear anything any way dont be scared to go to these app however old or young they have a pretty strict policy on noise after midnight ,oh by the way if your a young group be carefull if you break anything they charge tou for it, a group of lads broke an ironing board and they had to pay 60lvs but they took it in good faith have fun
