Regatta Palace

After reading some reviews I was apprehensive about my stay here, it's my 3rd day here, hotel is clean, all the staff I have spoken to are friendly, the room is cleaned every day, pool area is spotless with no towel wars, you can get a lounger anytime of the day, food is nice, there is a good variety to choose from, there is a bus stop opposite so getting about is easy, the beach is a 5 minute walk way, if you a worried about coming here after reading some reviews don't be as so far I can't fault anything about my stay here

Location is fantastic, SOME of the staff were amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful however its not very clean. The rooms have some fab amenities such as free air con and a safe. They provide a kettle but inside ours was all chalky and flaky. The food is not really catered for the English although I managed to eat something even if it was just pasta and salad. The hygiene standards aren't great. The juice containers look they haven't been cleaned since they were purchased. The rooms are surface clean but behind the scenes (under the beds, showers, etc) it was grim. The sunbeds are KNACKERED and DANGEROUS. my friend was injured and it could have been quite serious. The pool is a good size but is in the shade from late afternoon. We loved that it was so close to the beach. Cacao beach is absolutely stunning. Watch out for the nudist area 😂 It states it is 4* but its more of a 2* priced as a 4*. The bar closes at 10pm! You can buy a beer from the lobby bar but its all warm. George and Lubo are top class guys (Front Desk and security )and they should be running the show. It needs some money spending on it as its got potential to be amazing but as it is, I wouldn't return here, to this hotel. We just came back 5 days ago.

I was looking forward to staying at this hotel as the pictures were stunning, not the case im afraid, the staff are miserable except for 1 member george, the food well if you like flys on your food great, but the food was pretty much the same everyday nothing is labelled to say what you are eating. The bar closes at 10pm and that's it we spent our time out of the hotel as it was very depressing, given wrong room on arrival proper room wasn't much better.
