Whatever expectations we had, they were exceeded. Large and very clean rooms, premium services, very well trained and respectful staff, good food, many free activities, impeccable pool. In addition, excellent entertainer and DJ for the party.

I stayed 8 days at Hotel Wela, Sunny Beach (2 people), and unfortunately the experience was not a pleasant one. I had read the negative reviews before, but I hoped they wouldn’t be true. Unfortunately, they were confirmed. First of all, the rooms are old and have an unpleasant smell. The shower drain clogged immediately and dirt started to come out, the taps were rusty, and in one corner of the bathroom there was visible mold. The air conditioning started leaking into the room, it was “fixed” twice, but the problem came back. In 8 days, the beds were only made twice, and the bed sheets and towels were never changed. On the website it says the hotel is 7 minutes’ walk from the beach, but in reality, it takes about 15. Parking is €10/day. The biggest issue, however, was the food. Lack of variety, the same dishes every day, and sometimes with a bad taste. On 3 out of the 8 days, we literally had nothing to eat. One evening there were pasta with a sour (probably spoiled) sauce and pickles in it, another evening there was a breaded “chicken breast” which was actually a raw chicken thigh inside. To mention the positives: the coffee and cocktails were good, the pool was fine, and the staff – young and friendly. For a little over €1000 paid and a 4-star hotel, we did not receive the services we expected. In the past, I have stayed at 3-star hotels that were far better than this one, both in terms of cleanliness and food. Attached you can find some pictures – one with the mold cluster in the bathroom, another with the pasta in sour sauce and pickles that nobody could eat, and one with the so-called “breaded chicken breast” which was actually an undercooked thigh. I only regret not photographing all the meals each day; it was only in the last days that I thought of documenting them. In conclusion, I do not recommend this hotel. If you still end up here, try to enjoy the sea and your vacation and look past the unpleasant aspects of the accommodation.
