Hubby and I ate in here last night. The low prices should have been a clue. I ordered chicken Alfredo, and himself had garlic prawns. The spaghetti had no sauce on it, just oil. No parmasan cheese. Totally void of flavour. The prawns came covered in sauce, but you had to take them out of the shells. Then there was no sauce, and they were overcooked. Once the food came to the table nobody came to ask if everything was OK. On a positive note, the cocktails were nice. The staff, when you got their attention, were lovely. The waiter gave us mosquito spray to use,which was a nice touch. Two main courses and 4 cocktails came to a little over $25. It was very cheap, but the price reflected the quality. We shall not be returning.

Not first visit but wont now be rushing back A group of about 15 of us had informed birdcage a couple of days ahead of our midweek social visit for food and drinks. Our group arrived between 6.15pm and 7pm so not all at once. The three young male staff seemed ill prepared for our visit as first beers took 10-15 mins to be served even though place pretty quiet. After "6 beers served staff informed they had ran out of beer glasses and when alternatives were sourced the beers were served warm as were the glasses. First meal took over half an hour and it got worse as more of us arrived ,only half of us decided to order food as it was clear the Birdcage was just not staffed in the kitchen to cope . After a wait of approx 45 mins for pizza and chasing it up, we were informed it was still going to be about another half hour. We cancelled that meal and decided to go elsewhere to eat. The staff were polite and sort of felt sorry for them, it was clear there was no management present and these guys were not coping even though only half of us decided to risk ordering food as even serving beers was not going well. I actually enjoyed my chicken schnitzel meal when it arrived, it was decent value and decent quality. Running out of beer glasses right from the start and slow service of warm beer in.warm non beer glasses means not a place I would risk returning to even for a drink and at best would risk going as just a couple .

I booked a room at this hotel expecting a pleasant stay, but unfortunately, the room was nothing like the photos. The window is blocked by mosquito screens and there's no natural light. The room is also full of mosquitos. The bathroom is a wet room with the shower spraying directly onto the toilet - not what I was expecting! The room is also a far cry from the photographs on the website. The room has an intense glaring light which makes for an overbearing feel. The Expedia listing showed a shower enclosed in a glass unit, which was not the case. I've raised this with reception, but no resolution so far. Hoping for a speedy fix.
