Check Inn Siem Reap

I stayed in Check Inn Siem Reap for Jan 30th - Feb 2nd, the place is nicely located in between the city (1-2km) and 4-5km from Angkor. The staffs were helpful and friendly. But the room I was in was tad noisy, with creeping pipe sound, and mosquitoes. But whatever, that's the thrill. As a side note, it's situated along Khmer Pub Street (not the cool Pub Street, it's the karaoke Pub Street), so be prepared to listen to Hotel California late at night because that song is gold, people. You'll listen in all around the world, Japan, Roma, Melbourne or Manila. It wasn't that bad though.

A decent and no frill guest house. It's clean and only few min tuk tuk ride downtown. 300 m from the National Museum, but surrounded by many night spots. If one does not mind the live bands and karaoke surroundings this is a good no frill place to stay.

I booked a room at Check Inn Seam Reap after reading the reviews here on TripAdvisor. When we arrived, there was an electrical outage and wifi was down. Luckily, it lasted only about 20 minutes and there was no more power interruption for the rest of our stay. We didn't get to meet Ms. Riya because she was on leave (much to my disappointment). But her replacement Mr. Dam Bunchhoeun was delightful. Chhoeun greeted us at the reception warmly and gave us useful suggestions on what to do in Siem Reap. Our room on the ground floor was large, very clean with comfortable beds and strong wifi. The bathroom amenities was basic, but the shower was great. Breakfast was rather limited to eggs, bread and fruit, though we didn't mind much. We also appreciated our Tuk Tuk driver Mr. Dara who was always punctual and waited for us patiently while our plane was delayed for about 2 hours. He took us around Siem Reap the whole day and always greeted us with a smile. Overall, I found the place rather charming, it felt like home away from home. We woke up in the mornings to the sound of a cock crowing and sunlight streaming through our window from the garden outside. I was rather glad that we stayed there.
