Tunnel Mountain Resort Banff

Spacious and comfortable room (one King bed, plus one double) with a little basic kitchenette and nice shower room. We probably spent more time there than we really wanted to because the weather was so wet! We had a good stay, appreciated the free public transport and we enjoyed Banff and surroundings…the gondola (great views once the rain stopped!), the walk to the Hoodoos, the little Whyte museum, the Bow Falls (which were fabulous in the rain!) and the town centre were all great. However we would have liked - 1) much better lighting in the room. It was impossible to read a book, and felt dim and dismal in the rain. 2) a warmer swimming pool! It was freezing, and too small to get enough swimming in to warm up! Changing rooms etc all rather shabby. 3) better armchairs - in fact it felt a bit weird having two beds and no comfortable seating? We brought the balcony chairs in but wasn’t as nice as having one’s own sofa! Otherwise a good 4 night stay.

Nice spot close to town. We loved being able to walk into town or using ROAM transit to avoid parking and driving in town. It was super to have more space than the typical hotel room. If you stay here eat at the Prow across the street. Amazing food, great service and ambiance-you will love it! If you don’t stay here eat at the Prow-you can take the ROAM 2 and skip driving from Banff.

We spent 3 nights in an appartement, that was comfortable, but needed a makeover. The showercurtain was in rags, the stove had remains of 30 years of cooking and the toilet pot “remains” as well. It had nothing to do with daily cleaning, that was fine. But renovation is needed. Even for Banff: far too expensive for what you receive. Upon departure I mentioned this to the receptionist who was friendly but not in the least interested.
