Best Western Suites Calgary Downtown

Amazing. Easy to find even in downtown Calgary. 15th floor views incredible. Full kitchen in room. Free parking. Cool, comfy and cozy rooms. Slept like a log. Great places to eat within walking distance. Dollarama for drinks and snacks 50 yards away. Incredible 180 degree sauna!!! You CANNOT GO WRONG!!!

This was our second stay at the Best Western Plus Suites in Calgary. We really enjoyed it 2 years ago but since then there has been a lot of renovation and it is now even better! It is in an excellent location being only a 15 minute walk from the free tram which takes you into the centre of the city and a 5 minute walk from 16th and 17th Avenues which have great restaurants and shops. There are two supermarkets 5 minutes walk away. Parking was easy and checkin was quick and efficient. Our room was huge with everything you could need including a kitchenette which had a hob, microwave, fridge, coffee maker with supply of pods and well stocked cupboards with crockery and plates. The curtains were blackout and the bed was wonderfully comfortable and very large. The bathroom was equally good and had a bath and powerful over-bath shower. There was a large closet area and safe. The TV was large and included access to numerous channels and online channels. The free breakfast was very good with large choices of hot and cold food. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. This is an excellent hotel - one of the best we have ever stayed in - and we will definitely return.

Really disappointing, cleanliness zero. The size of the room is the only good point of the hotel. Over 7 days, they never changed our sheets; on two occasions they didn't clean the bathroom, leaving dirty towels as well as all the trash from the room. One day we returned at 3:30 PM and the room still hadn't been cleaned. In short, the management of this hotel really leaves something to be desired, and the standard commercial responses that make you feel almost as if you were the one at fault don't help at all. Despite going to see the front desk, nothing really changed. We hadn't put a sign on the door because that's the excuse the housekeeper gave us. So, on top of that, they were dishonest. Honestly, if you are spending more than 2 nights in Calgary, choose another hotel; for the price we pay, the service deserves better quality.
