Holiday Inn & Suites Downtown

While the hotel itself was very nice, the surrounding area was horrible. The website says family friendly, but I wouldn’t want my children seeing drug addicts smoking crack and homeless people sleeping or passed out on the sidewalks getting out of the hotel to get into the city. The bellman Tony was absolutely fantastic, very friendly and helpful with a smile always on his face. He was the best part of the hotel. The beds and pillows were very comfy and you are close to the hop on hop off stop. This hotel was booked as part of an Apple vacation package and I certainly wouldn’t stay there again. The hospital is 4 blocks from here, so maybe that’s why all the drug users are on that route.

Location of the hotel is good and bad. It is very close to homeless and not a pleasant sight to see. At the same time it close to downtown nd many restaurants. Tim Hortons is next door. The rooms were adequate not worth the price. The amenities were very few . With only 3 capsules for coffee for the day No soap in the washroom. The cost of a water bottle is about 2.5 dollars. They do not have a water fountain. The noises and view from the room was terrible overlooking garbage. The bathroom need to be updated very small space. Breakfast is for a fee with hot and cold dishes, eggs hash browns ,steam vegetables and the continental menu.the lift is the tiniest one meant for 4 people only. The happy hour has not much to offer the same menu. Definitely not worth the money. It is close to graven street which I would avoid at all cost.

I recently stayed at The Holiday Inn in Vancouver BC I just wanted to say, Justin was an amazing person to deal with. Very pleasant and friendly. The rooms were super clean and thank god the air conditioning worked great . So thank you The dinner was awesome but the breakfast not so much. They not only forgot to add the bacon to my plate but they gave me over cooked hashbrowns. I could not eat them. For the price you pay for the meal I think they should put out more effort on making it edible. I am a breakfast cook and I would never send out a meal like that. My motto, if I wouldn’t eat it then I don’t send it out.
