Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Do

We recently stayed 2 nights in a harbour view room on level 30. The room was a good size and in great condition being recently renovated. The bed was comfortable and the room was pretty quiet for sleeping. We had wonderful views of Stanley Park and the harbour. There are plenty of lifts so we didn't ever have to wait long (even though the hotel was super busy) and they were very fast too. All staff we encountered were very friendly, helpful and efficient. We ate 4 meals in the Showcase Restaurant in the lobby and they were excellent. We would not normally eat so much at the hotel but we genuinely found the meals delicious. We would not hesitate in staying again.

We booked a newly renovated, high floor, Bay view room (and paid a hefty rate for it). The room we got was remarkably handsome and had a wonderful view of the Burrard Inlet and the Grouse Mountain. The only complaint was a motion-detecting night light in the bathroom. It was blindingly bright destroying one's night vision. I discovered that it could be disabled by unplugging it under the counter. The food quality in the hotel restaurant was good but not exceptional. And, as is usually the case in most Marriott hotels, the quality of the coffee sucked. To avoid it I ordered a Cappuccino, which was almost tasteless. My server had an extra shot of espresso add, which brought it up to being acceptable. But again, I have to ask, if Starbucks can serve the same good quality coffee regardless of where you are (including Manila, Philippines), why can't Marriott do the same? Other hotel chains, like the Four Seasons, don't have this problem and they provide free coffee in the lobby in the early morning.

Location is great, but the location is loud - heard lots of sirens throughout the night (on the 15th floor). The hotel was average - bed and pillows were lumpy and thought the sheets were scratchy. Room was clean, but also dated. Water would be super cold in the shower and then really hot. We were only here for one night.
