Econo Lodge Fort St. John

Staying here was the worst Hotel experience I have ever had. We came back from the wedding we were attending at around 11:00 pm and our door would not work. We were given new keys to try which also didn’t work. The young man at the front desk tried his very best to help us as much as he could which we were very grateful for. He could not get the door open for us so he called his manager Aaron Venipul who apparently was the only one who knew how to reset the lock. He refused to come and open our door until 9:00 AM the next morning. I had medication in that room that needed to be taken twice a day and Aaron was informed of that yet he still did nothing. Then he ignored all other phone calls and attempts to get ahold of him after that. We had no phone chargers, we were forced to sleep in our nice clothes from the wedding and all of our personal belongings were held in that room and Aaron decided that my medication was not important nor were our personal belongings and did absolutely nothing. We live 8 hours from Fort St John and planned to leave at 6:00 am the next morning but were not able to because Aaron NEVER showed up and we had to wait until 9:00 AM when a woman came in and was able to get it open finally. Aaron is an absolutely useless manager and should be fired. And I HIGHLY recommend NOT staying at this hotel. This situation was absolutely ridiculous and was handled incredibly poorly. OH! And the bagels at breakfast were COVERED in mold. So I’d stay away from the free breakfast if I were you!

Extremely poor ventilation system, AC was broken or turned off. Absolutely no air entered into the very tiny window and the room was 30 degrees on arrival ( the temp gauge was also not working properly) we ended up moving to another hotel within 3 hours on arrival. Also a lot of young people tend to go here to the Travel Lodge for drinking , so it is a little noisy.

Stayed for a couple nights, room was comfortable with a big tv. Restaurant, bar, sales on main floor. Good location and easy to access
