Mary's Motel

Stayed for two days. This place is in poor shape. Original room had a very bad odor so we asked for a new room. Plugs in the new room were loose and had no covers. We asked staff to fix it and they never did. Windows were very dirty and there were bugs on the window sill. Ventilation in bathroom was terrible. All the walls had water streaks and were wet the whole time we were there. The toilet seat did not match the shape of the toilet so it made opening and closing the door very tight. Advertising says pools, sauna and spa but they don’t have any of these things. No smoking rules are not enforced. Our neighbor smoked outside the room in front of the door and air vent many times.

This motel was not clean or sanitary. When the people in the unit above ours showered, our carpet got wet. Filters in the AC unit where filthy. Housekeeping tried to enter our room at 9 a.m. and didn't even knock. Reception was very unreceptive to my concerns. The cheapest coffee(2 pods) was provided, but not even a cup to make it in. They refused to provide a tea bag for my cousin who is not a coffee drinker. Sheets were thread are. Tub plug cord is rusty, as was the lamp. The tray in the MW hadn't been cleaned. There were hairs on the bedding and sink.

Our stay was for just one night. We had the jacuzzi suite. It was fine. The jacuzzi is a big bathtub in the regular bathroom, not exactly what I was expecting but it worked fine. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. It’s in a great location! Everything was in walking distance. It’s a low priced motel in Golden. If you are expecting a top of the line hotel, pay the 200+ a night. Next time we are through we’ll most likely stay again.
