Executive Inn Kamloops

We stopped one night part way through a Rocky Mountaineer journey. The hotel and room was clean and the shower was great. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced.

The Delta Hotel was very comfortable, centrally located, and staffed with friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant was also very good. Kamloops as a town was a wonderful surprise and if our travels take us this way again, we will be sure to stop in. The downtown riverwalk and park were the best we have ever seen -- and we travel quite a bit.

We were assigned to stay at this hotel as part of a tour, and unfortunately our experience was awful from the moment we arrived. The first room felt uninviting and poorly maintained. The toilet's flushing mechanism was broken, so we had to remove the tank lid and manually press the plunger inside just to flush it. Because the room gave us an uneasy feeling, we decided to inspect the mattress. To our horror, we found a live bedbug crawling on it. A video wouldn't upload, but I posted a screenshot (it was moving). The front desk staff were apologetic and moved us to another room, but by that point we were too disgusted to feel comfortable staying there. To make matters worse, the hairdryer in the replacement room was also broken. The front desk asked us to send the video we had taken of the bedbug to hotel management, which we did. We never received any acknowledgment, apology, or follow-up. Finding a bedbug is bad enough. The poor maintenance and complete lack of response from management afterward made the experience even more disappointing. I cannot recommend staying here.
