Excellent value at the Grizz. The location is convenient to the downtown core; the room we had was simple but comfortable and well appointed; the staff friendly and very helpful. The continental breakfast is simple, but quite adequate.

On February 27, 2026, my jewellery was stolen from inside my luggage in Room 102 of the Grizz Hotel. (Rooms do not have a safe for valuables.) No staff should have been in my room as we had NOT requested housekeeping. Police reviewed CCTV footage and advised me that only one person – a hotel employee – had entered my room while we were away. This employee was questioned promptly by police but as of April, he remained employed by the Grizz. Despite my writing to the GM of the Grizz to discuss compensation and ask why the thief has not been fired, I have heard nothing. I am concerned that the thief is a friend or family member of the hotel management/owners, who may be complicit in stealing from their guests. Do not risk your belongings or your privacy, or if you are alone in this hotel, your personal safety!

This hotel can't be beaten in shabbiness! Already from the outside it is a run-down booth, the room is small and musty with gruesome carpeting, the door onto the corridor is so warped that it is open at the top 5cm and you can hear every word from outside. The worst thing, however, were the diarrhoea shit splashes from the predecessor at the toilet edge! Disgusting! Never again!!!
